Neutrogena has recalled a popular brand of makeup wipes over fears of bacterial contamination. Neutrogena’s parent company, Kenvue Brands LLC, has voluntarily recalled Makeup Remover Ultra-Soft Cleansing Towelettes after they tested positive for a bacteria called Pluralibacter gergoviae, according to a report by the FDA. The bacteria, also known as P. gergoviae, can cause severe infections in people with weakened immune systems, chronic illnesses, or people who are undergoing surgical procedures. The recalled wipes were sold in Texas, Florida, South Carolina and Georgia. While the recall went into effect on September 19, the risk level was upgraded on October 3 to a Class II, which the FDA advises is when exposure to a product could lead to “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.” Kenvue Brands said the recall was activated “out of an abundance of caution” and that no other Neutrogena products had been exposed to the bacteria. The affected wipes have the lot number 1835U6325A.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has changed its website banner to blame Democrats for the inability to fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) due to the federal shutdown. “Senate Democrats have now voted 12 times to not fund the food stamp program,” the website states, adding that “the well has run dry.” The shutdown, which entered its 26th day on Sunday, is now the second-longest in U.S. history. The Senate has failed to pass a Republican spending bill 12 times, with the next vote scheduled for Monday, as Democrats and Republicans continue blaming each other and failing to reach an agreement. On Thursday, the Senate rejected a bill to pay federal workers who will miss paychecks due to the shutdown. The SNAP program provides low-income families and individuals with electronic benefits to buy food, with funds loaded onto a card each month. According to USDA data, SNAP served an average of 41.7 million people per month in 2024. “At this time, no benefits will be issued on November 1,” the USDA website reads, continuing, “We are approaching an inflection point for Senate Democrats.” The targeted website change comes after Democratic-led states copied the Trump administration’s tactic and reiterated on blue-state website banners that SNAP benefits could be cut because of Republicans. Demi Moore revealed that she thinks Tom Cruise “was quite embarrassed” by her pregnancy during the pre-production of A Few Good Men.

Speaking to Jia Tolentino at the New Yorker Festival on Saturday, the 61-year-old actress said she was eight months pregnant when she and Cruise, 63, began reading lines for the 1992 film.

A retired nurse from England has died after being trampled by cows while walking her dog. Rebecca Jane Hitchings, 59, died in hospital on Oct. 16 after being found with severe injuries and airlifted to a hospital in the English city of Plymouth. The retired nurse was found in Exmoor, a hilly moorland area situated across the border of Somerset and North Devon in the southwest of England, described as a “special place, packed full of beautiful landscapes, wildlife and history.” Senior coroner Philip Spinney said that Hitchings suffered blunt trauma, which led to hemorrhagic shock, the BBC reported. She died in the hospital. Hemorrhagic shock is caused by severe blood loss, either from internal or external bleeding. The inquest, initially held in the county of Devon, was adjourned and is expected to continue under the jurisdiction of the Somerset coroner for a full hearing. In September, an 85-year-old hiker died after being trampled by cows in the Australian Alps while walking his dog with his 82-year-old wife. According to the Defenders of Wildlife, cows are responsible for around 22 human deaths in the U.S. each year.

Nick Mangold, an iconic former center for the New York Jets, died Saturday at 41 after a long and bitter battle with chronic kidney disease. Drafted in the first round out of Ohio State in 2006, Mangold became the anchor of the Jets’ offensive line, starting 171 games over a decade and making seven Pro Bowls. He helped guide New York through seven playoff campaigns and was immortalized in the Jets’ Ring of Honor in 2022. He’d opened up earlier this year about his health struggles, which were diagnosed just as he joined the league. He said he was undergoing dialysis and looking for a kidney transplant. “Unfortunately, I do not have any family able to donate at this time, so this is why I’m reaching out to you, our NY Jets and Ohio State communities. I am in need of a kidney donor with type O blood,” he said. In the letter reflecting on his journey, posted to social media prior to his death, he thanked his family, friends, and community for their unwavering support, calling himself “lucky” despite the challenges. Jets leadership praised Mangold’s impact both on and off the field, with Chairman Woody Johnson calling him “the heartbeat of our line.” He is survived by his wife, Jenny, and their four children.

The Department of Homeland Security has removed a video from X after an indie rock band slapped it with a takedown notice and accused it of pushing “propaganda,” reports NME. The post in question featured the MGMT song “Little Dark Age,” which played in the background as officers were shown arresting protesters in Portland, Oregon—the latest blue city where President Donald Trump has ordered federal intervention. “MGMT is aware of ‘Little Dark Age’ being featured in a propaganda video by the Department of Homeland Security and has issued a takedown request for the unauthorized use of their music,” a statement from the band said. She was best known for her roles in the CBS series Lassie, which aired from 1954 to 1971, and Lost in Space, which premiered in 1965. A woman was walking her dog on Tuesday afternoon when an airplane crashed and struck her in Long Beach, California. The woman, Tiffany Harrison, suffered a broken pelvis and spine, as well as a deep gash in her leg that required two blood transfusions, according to her sister, Brittany McFall. “It’s almost like an unbelievable story. When we got the phone call that she got hit by an airplane, we couldn’t even believe it because it’s something that doesn’t happen‚" McFall told ABC7. McFall explained that her sister didn’t hear the plane approaching because Harrison is deaf. The aircraft that struck Harrison when she was walking on a soccer field appeared to be a home-built two-seater, and the pilot, a man in his sixties, is recovering from the accident. “The pilot is a member of our chapter at Compton airport. He’s been teaching safety classes for years, up until recently. He’s not an inexperienced pilot,” Dennis Lord, the hangar manager at Compton/Woodley Airport, where the airplane was expected to land, told ABC7. Harrison’s partner, Veronica Barrera, said she saw the plane coming toward Harrison and her dog from their van in the parking lot. “That plane hit her so fast,” Barrera told CBS LA. Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson released a statement saying the city is keeping the victims “in our thoughts and praying for their full recovery from this traumatic experience.”

Donald Trump is reportedly charging ahead with his administration’s campaign of indiscriminate bombings in the Caribbean Sea by leveraging a “two-part hack to the system” of checks and balances on his power as president.

Beginning in early September, the White House has initiated a rabid military campaign in waters off the southern coast of the United States. Donald Trump appears to think that his attempts to meet with his counterpart in North Korea have been stymied by a lack of phone service.

Trump, 79, was asked by a reporter on Friday while aboard Air Force One whether he’s planning to travel on and meet with North Korean despot Kim Jong Un during this coming week’s diplomatic tour of Asia. Trump responded by saying he was “open to it,” but the journalist would likely have “to put out the word” for him.

“You know, they don’t have a lot of telephone service. They have a lot of nuclear weapons, but not a lot of telephone service,” he said. “I’m open to it, I had a great relationship with him. He probably knows I’m coming. But… you wanna put out the word… I’m open to it… There’s not a lot of ways other than the internet, you know, they have very little telephonic service.”

Director Roland Emmerich recalled the bizarre moment in an oral history of the film recorded by The Hollywood Reporter for its 25th anniversary and re-shared as the real-life White House is under attack from bulldozers ordered up by President Donald Trump. “When we got to the moment the White House blows up, Roland and I are looking at each other going, ‘We’re in the White House watching it blow up,’” writer-producer Dean Devlin told THR. “Then, who runs out? Bill Clinton!” Emmerich added. The pair noted that, during test screenings, audiences wouldn’t leave for a bathroom break until after the iconic scene, because they were so engrossed in the film. “One minute later, [Clinton] comes back, shaking his hands dry,” Emmerich said. “Dean and I looked at each other and nearly started laughing.” The screening took place in the White House Family Theater, which was opened in 1942 under Franklin D. California Governor Gavin Newsom has hit back at President Donald Trump after the Department of Justice announced Friday that it would be sending election monitors to California.

President Donald Trump announced the donation on Thursday, saying that “a friend” of his had made the donation. The president did not identify the donor, saying “he doesn’t really want the recognition.”

The Defense Department confirmed the donation to the Daily Beast, with chief Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell explaining, “The donation was made on the condition that it be used to offset the cost of Service members’ salaries and benefits.”

Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, an 88-year-old Democrat congresswoman representing Washington D.C., was scammed out of $4,400 by a fake cleaning crew and was described by police as having “early signs of dementia.”

Norton, who has served as D.C.’s delegate since 1991, had scammers posing as a cleaning crew enter her home on Thursday and obtain her credit card information, according to a police report obtained by NBC4. The scammers then began charging Norton for services they did not perform, stealing $4,400 before a “house manager and a friend”—as Norton’s office described them—was able to put a stop to it.

A Miami Vice film is on the horizon with two A-listers reportedly being sought for the project. People reports that Oscar nominee Austin Butler is in talks to play James “Sonny” Crockett, originally played by Don Johnson, in the upcoming movie adaptation of NBC’s 1980s hit crime drama. On Oct. 23, Sinners star Michael B. Jordan was confirmed by multiple outlets to be in early negotiations regarding the role of Ricardo Tubbs, a part originated by Philip Michael Thomas. Production on the film will begin in 2026, with the movie’s theatrical release set for Aug. 6, 2027. The film’s plot will follow the 1984 pilot and first season, exploring “the glamour and corruption of mid-’80s Miami in a new version of the property.” Joseph Kosinski, who directed Top Gun: Maverick and F1, is set to direct the film, which will be the second time the hit NBC show has been adapted into a movie. In 2006, the series executive producer, Michael Mann, directed a movie adaptation starring Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell, but the film got mixed reviews.

Kardashian began studying law six years ago, passing the “baby bar,” the unofficial one-day test that California first-year law students take to make sure they understand the basics of law, in 2021. Passing the bar would also allow her to follow in the footsteps of her father, Robert Kardashian, who was famously on O.J. Simpson’s defense team for his 1995 murder trial.

A lost Salvador Dalí painting, called Vecchio Sultano, that was initially purchased for £150 (about $200) has sold at auction for £45,700 (nearly $60,800). A local art dealer and collector, whose name has not been revealed to protect his identity, found the watercolor and felt-tip painting two years ago at a house clearance sale in Cambridge, U.K. He noticed Dalí‘s signature on the bottom and Sotheby’s stickers on the back, but initially thought it may have been a fake. Still, he bid for it “on the spur of the moment,” and won it after offering £150. “It was a once-in-a-lifetime feeling,” he told The Guardian. On October 24, the painting sold at auction for £45,700 to an overseas buyer after Cheffins, an auctioneering company, authenticated the painting as a piece of Dalí‘s 1966 planned 500 painting series of The Arabian Nights. “I was very pleased after all the uncertainty and doubt right at the beginning about whether it was real or not, and the whole journey for the last two years… it was just extraordinary," the original buyer, who spent £4,000 (about $5,320) authenticating the painting, told The Guardian.

Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino is accused of hurling a tear gas canister during demonstrations against a sweeping immigration crackdown in Chicago, an act that allegedly violated a court order.

According to the complaint filed by group of protesters, journalists and clergy members against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Thursday, Bovino “apparently threw tear gas into a crowd without justification” in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood, breaking a standing order from U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis.

Not even historic trees are safe from President Donald Trump’s path of destruction at the White House.

Hours after Donald Trump issued a chilling threat to keep killing enemies without legal authority, the president made good on his pledge by ordering his 10th strike on an alleged drug boat.

Pentagon boss Pete Hegseth announced on Friday that the U.S. had blown up a vessel suspected of carrying drugs in international waters, killing six people and bringing the death toll of its “narco-terrorism” campaign to at least 43.

Overnight, at the direction of President Trump, the Department of War carried out a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Tren de Aragua (TdA), a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO), trafficking narcotics in the Caribbean Sea.

Scientists have uncovered fleshed-out imprints of a pair of hoofed dinosaurs in Wyoming. Hardened clay formed around the two young Edmontosaurs, preserving their skin contours and providing experts with unprecedented insight how they looked. The young 40-foot adult and a two-year-old juvenile died around 66 million years ago in the Cretaceous period. They have been referred to as “mummies” because clay preserved the soft tissues around the skeleton, creating a cast of their living form. Reuters reports it is “the most complete, fleshed-out view of a large dinosaur to date.” Study leader Paul Sereno of the University of Chicago wrote in Science, “We’re seeing the full profile of the dinosaur for the first time. We’re confident what it looked like.” He continued, “There’s no DNA, there’s no tissue structure, there’s nothing. It’s a clay mask.” A flash flood potentially covered them shortly after they died. Previously, scientists hadn’t thought it possible that mummification could happen to animals that lived on land. Reuters reports, “It is the first dinosaur, the first reptile and the first land vertebrate known to have evolved hooves.” Edmontosaurs were common, lived in herds, and were a favorite meal of the T. rex. “It’s not an animal that would be easy to take down. That’s why you needed something the size of Tyrannosaurus,” Sereno told Reuters.

Weiss has allegedly had conversations with associates about Baier becoming part of the CBS team, possibly for the CBS Evening News anchor chair, according to Status News.

Baier, who currently hosts Fox’s Special Report with Bret Baier and serves as the chief political anchor for the conservative network, is just one of several potential candidates to replace current co-anchors John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois. Some internal names, like Norah O’Donnell and Tony Dokoupil, have reportedly been discussed for the position amongst top executives like Weiss and CBS News President Tom Cibrowski.

Two bear attacks left one person dead and four injured on Friday in Japan, officials said. In one mauling in Akita region, “one died and three are being treated at a hospital,” a local police officer told AFP. In a separate incident in Toyama region, “a woman in her 70s was injured,” an official told the outlet. The animal has been increasingly intruding into Japan’s towns for several reasons, including climate change and a declining human population. Climate change affects the bears’ food sources and hibernation cycles, according to experts. Japan has two types of bears, Asian black bears and bigger brown bears that live in Hokkaido, the main northern island. In the northern region, particularly, the animals attack tourists, enter stores, and show up near schools and parks. Thousands are shot every year. Before the attacks on Friday, bears had killed nine people in 2025, beating the previous high of six in the year ending in March 2024.

Former Saturday Night Live co-stars Ego Nwodim and Heidi Gardner are reuniting for a new episode Nwodim’s award-winning podcast Thanks Dad. For the premiere episode of the podcast’s second season, Nwodim and Gardner will explore their SNL journey together, also discussing their friendship over the years. Nwodim announced her departure from SNL in September, writing in a statement, “The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight. But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave SNL.” Gardner’s exit from the show was revealed in August, but reports suggested that her contract was terminated after eight seasons. She was not asked back for the latest season of the show, according to an insider source who spoke to the New York Post. Gardner has not yet publicly addressed her departure from the show. Both comedians have landed new gigs since. Gardner is now a cast member in Broadway’s All Out, a production written by former SNL writer Simon Rich and also starring several SNL alumni, including Cecily Strong, Jon Stewart, and Ray Romano. Nwodim, in addition to working on her podcast, will be performing a comedy show at Lincoln Center’s Claire Tow Theater in November. Her podcast recently joined iHeartMedia and Will Ferrell’s Big Money Players Network. The second season will launch on Oct. 28. In a teaser for the new season, the comedian said she’ll be talking to “world-renowned actors, comedians, musicians and more.”

There is a “small hope” of recovering the $102 million worth of jewels stolen from the Louvre on October 19, says one of the lead investigators.

Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau, whose office is leading the case, told Ouest-France on Thursday that she felt “optimistic” about the investigation.

“The media coverage of this organized robbery gives me a small hope that the perpetrators won’t dare move too much with the jewels, and that we can therefore find them if we manage to move quickly,” explained the prosecutor, 65. “I want to be optimistic.”

Two hikers had to be rescued after being struck by lightning near the top of a mountain in Arizona. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office said it received a distress call from two men who said they were hit by a bolt while taking photos near the summit of Humphreys Peak, the highest mountain in the Grand Canyon state. Amazingly, the two men, one from Flagstaff and the other from Canada, did not know each other before the incident, Fox Weather reported. While search-and-rescue teams were dispatched immediately, aircraft support was unable to assist due to the dangerous weather, including hail and heavy rain. Rescue teams found the first victim, who was able to descend some way down the mountain to try and get help. “He reported that the other injured hiker had been unable to continue and had stopped near the saddle between Humphreys and Agassiz Peaks, roughly 0.7 miles farther up the trail at 11,800 feet,” the sheriff’s office said. The second hiker was later found, but he was too injured to make it down by himself, so first responders had to use a litter to carry him out. Both men were then transported to a nearby medical center for treatment.

Save for a single sterling jolt, his compendium of clichés is a case study in knowing a genre’s tricks but doing absolutely nothing of interest with them.

MAGA political commentator Scott Jennings took up the shield to defend masked ICE agents from the criticism of Geraldo Rivera.

Rivera, 82, rhetorically asked why members of the law enforcement agency would want to maintain anonymity with a mask.

“Because they’re embarrassed by the job they have been tasked to do,” the former Fox News talk show host answered on CNN’s NewsNight. “Masks should be banned in law enforcement. What kind of world can we have where cops come into your door and they’re masked?”

New York Attorney General Letitia James has moved to sanction the Trump-appointed official prosecuting her over alleged mortgage fraud.

James has accused Lindsey Halligan, the acting U.S. Attorney for Eastern Virginia, of a “stunning disclosure of government information.”

The move comes after Halligan—who Trump handpicked to go after his enemies—used Signal earlier this month to communicate with a journalist about the criminal case she is pursuing against James.

Country music superstar Keith Urban attempted to set the record straight to fans as he faces damning rumors about his split from wife Nicole Kidman.

As he performed concerts and their split became public, eagle-eyed fans noticed Urban changes lyrics to song about Kidman to instead reference his 25-year-old guitarist Maggie Baugh. Now, the country singer finally addressed the allegations of an affair with a pointed message for fans.

During the final stop of his High and Alive World Tour in Nashville, Urban made a statement before singing “You’ll Think of Me,” his 2002 hit.
